Around a living room arrangement a street landscape is installed.  The street seems to spring out of a TV monitor. A Fiction scenario emerges, being based upon the idea that the images which  come over cable into the house, could leave the television. House plants become part of the model landscape. They possess its real size and learn simultaneously a model-like scale reduction.  The plants evoke different landscape types.  The furniture serve as seating facility, however, at the same time build architectural elements of the minified landscape types.  The looped video sequence shows a short detail of the film „Easy Rider“ by Dennis Hopper.  In this classic the dream of an individual freedom, is contrasted with the „law and order“ thinking and the nationalism of a white, rural middle class society.  In „Easy Rider“ the landscape becomes a sort of infinite home. The genre of the road movie is applied to the representation of a changing, passing by landscape.  The landscape of the art work „Unterwegs (On the road)“ however, is made domestic and unmoved.  The street of the media image apparently moves towards the street which has been built and is rigid.  Media, built and real elements enter into a symbiosis.This playful-romantic model landscape is contrasted by two videos.
In the television that is facing towards the sofa, the film „The Passenger“ (German title: „Profession: reporter“) by Michelangelo Antonioni is told. the story of the film is told by five people which come from different continents.  Out of the descriptions of the five people a linear story has been made.  Conditional to the five narrators what has happenend is told from different views.  The approach of the different people is determined by different factors. The film „the Passenger“ by Antonioni is in the first place based on the images of the film.  The leading actor undertakes the experiment to change his identity and therewith his point of view.  Through a change of roles his relationship to an African underground movement changes.  He fails in his undertaking.
The flood of images in the third video is the result of a self-experiment: To sit in front of the TV for 24 hours in order to search all available chanels for images of other countries.  The beginning of the research took place on 27 June 2000 at 8.00 p.m. at the beginning of the news.  The search ended on 28 June 2000 at 8.00 p.m. with the news.  The collected images can be divided into four main cathegories: Animal and landscape descriptions (particularly from African, Asian and South-American countries), cathastrophy reports (mainly from the so called third world), globalisation promises of the commercials and finally the representation of the American „way of life“ through films and television series.
